Guy Kawasaki talked to a demographer, Joseph Chamie, who made a point about future ventures that's pertinent to Internet design:

"Given the aging of the population as well as large immigrant population, I would avoid businesses and products that are complicated to understand, hard or uncomfortable to use, expensive to buy, difficult to store, and marginal or non-essential."

Heh, well, that last part pretty much describes almost the whole Internet. But if we're going to build marginal or non-essential services, we can at least make them easy to understand and comfortable to use, no?
