API deck on digital storytelling

By Jay Smallat 7:36 pm 2/15/2007

I led a discussion on digital storytelling today at the American Press Institute, as mentioned in an earlier post (on which the comments include some good examples).

I have to say, this group was so well engaged and lively it was hard to believe the session started at 8:30 a.m. And they had supplied links to some of their multimedia efforts in advance, so we had a chance to see and discuss a wide variety of techniques.

I promised the participants I'd post the slide deck I assembled for the discussion, so here it is (1.1 mb PowerPoint). The slides don't contain all that much data, but they do have links to a number of multimedia examples from the participants' newspapers and elsewhere.

You mean I could have made 90 bucks on this? ;-)

Great examples in that slideshow, Jay... and a good example for Powerpoint users tempted to get too addicted to bullets and buzzwords. Thanks for sharing this online instead of adding a narration soundtrack, burning it to a CD and selling it as another $90 "textbook" my students can't afford.
